A Note From the Owners

In 1991, Brian and Julie founded T&T Waterproofing & Drain Tile Inc., named after their sons Tyler & Travis. By staying current on the latest products and offering versatile solutions, they built a lasting reputation for excellence—both in the industry and the community they called home. In 2020, we took over both businesses from our parents. Having grown up in the business, we continue to believe that quality beats quantity and have always lived in the community that we serve. A good name is important.

I have used Brian's insulation twice now and am extremely happy with their work and will continue to use them in the future. The first time I used them to spray foam the rim joists all around in my 1930's…

I had pretty high expectations and Brian's Insulation exceeded them. Chad, Chanse, and Tanner did amazing spray foam work and did not leave a trace when they were done. Highly recommend.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Does spray foam insulation require a separate vapor barrier?

Closed cell spray foam acts as its own vapor barrier. At just two inches thick, it achieves a permeability rating of 1 perm or lower (the industry standard for vapor barrier classification). This means no additional plastic sheeting or vapor barrier is needed, saving you time and materials during installation.

Can I be in the home while spray foam is being installed?

You should not be in the home during the installation or for a period after. Talk to your spray foam estimator about how long you should stay out.

Does spray foam off-gas?

During installation, gases are present as the foam is applied, which is why our installers wear appropriate protective equipment and homeowners are asked to stay out of the home until it has had time to properly ventilate. Once cured, closed cell spray foam traps gases within its cell structure, meaning there is no ongoing off-gassing after the process is complete.

Can spray foam insulation be applied in my attic?

Yes. Your attic is essentially the lid of your home, and sealing it properly has a huge impact on energy efficiency. Spray foam is an excellent option for attic spaces, particularly in older homes that lack an adequate vapor barrier or sufficient R-value.

That said, attic applications require a conversation before we get started. Depending on your roof structure and ventilation setup, spray foam may turn your attic into what’s called a “hot box” (a sealed, unvented space that becomes part of your home’s conditioned envelope). This approach works very well in the right situations, but isn’t always the best fit for every home. Traditional batt insulation with a poly vapor barrier may be the more appropriate solution.

We’re happy to walk through the details with you and recommend the right approach for your specific attic.

What is the difference between fiberglass and rock wool batts?

Both are excellent choices for standard wall cavities. Fiberglass is the most common and cost-effective material used to meet minimum building code requirements in new construction. Rock wool (mineral wool) is a denser alternative that provides superior acoustic dampening—making it ideal for soundproofing interior walls—along with exceptional fire resistance and moisture repellency.
